As of December 26, 2023, the progress report on the Babadjou-Matazem section reveals an impressive advancement of 92%, covering a stretch of 17 kilometers, with 14 kilometers of laid asphalt concrete. The sub-base layer extends across the entire 17-kilometer linear distance, while the foundation layer has been implemented on 16.7 kilometers out of the total 17 kilometers. The bituminous gravel layer has been executed on 16.6 kilometers out of 17 kilometers, and the impregnation process covers a distance of 16.6 kilometers. T2+CS2 type curbstones span a linear distance of 2,500 kilometers out of the total 2,563 kilometers, and concrete ditches have been completed over 14.9 kilometers out of 15 kilometers. The construction company, Bun’s, responsible for the project, is in the final stages of installing the last culvert.

The progress of related works associated with the development of certain communal roads for this initial section is estimated at 40%. This includes the clearance of right-of-ways accomplished over 10.5 kilometers out of 10.5 kilometers and the earthwork executed over 9 kilometers out of 10.5 kilometers.
