Cameroon Airports To Stop Collecting Taxes Directly From Travellers Upon Departure.Taxes To Be Included In Tickets.

From the 1 of March 2015,Cameroon airport authorities will stop collecting taxes from travelers leaving the country , airport taxes will be included in airline tickets.The new measure is in accordance with the financial regulations for 2015 fiscal year at the Ministry of Finance.

Hencefort, the airport tax collection authorities will be totally dismantled, leaving the responsibility to companies to include in the prices of airline tickets the airport tax , Cameroon Concord gathered the information from the General Directorate of Taxation in Douala ,which was also confirmed by a representative of Airfrance in Douala Cameroon.

This measure is part of the new arsenals contained in the reform of collecting airport stamp duty, enshrined in the 2015 Finance Act The new measure aims to secure the revenue of the state and will have no impact on the performance of airlines , according to Cameroonian authorities.

The inclusion of airport taxes into ticket prices will radically fascilitate boarding procedures at Cameroonian airports.It was highly welcomed by the airport authorities who wondered why it had taken the authorities so long to come up with a solution.

Cameroon concord spoke with a few Cameroonians from the diaspora who are currently spending holidays in Cameroon and they all welcomed the measure and said,they where often embarassed at the airport after heavy spendings during the holiday periods to pay an extra 10.000 fcfa t when leaving the country.
