Cameroon defence minister pays surprise visit to troops in the Far North

Cameroon servicemen and women combating Boko Haram spent an unforgettable New Year Eve in the company of Defense Minister, Joseph Beti Assomo. The head of the Cameroon defence ministry visited the locality of Kidji-Matari, in the district of Kolofata in Mayo-Sava department. He passed the night of December 31, 2015 to January 1, 2016 with the soldiers.

Hon. Joseph Beti Assomo reportedly arrived very late at the Nigerian border on Dec. 31, 2015 in the company of the governor of the Far North region Midjiyawa Bakary,Cameroon's Chief of army Staff, General René Claude Meka and other military chiefs assigned to the various regiments in the Far North region.
