Ghastly accident in Bamenda claims four lives
Cameroon: Four dead in ghastly motor accident in Bamenda
Four people are reported dead in a fatal motor accident in the North West region of Cameroon. The incident occurred at 7 am local time on Saturday at Up Station Bamenda, beside Tradex petrol station.{loadposition myposition2}
The accident, which is blamed on the bad nature of the road, involved the lone truck of SAJOCA(the lone centre for the disabled in the entire North West Region). The truck had carried artifacts to Douala, and was on its way back when it got entangled in the unfortunate incident. Two of the victims died instantly while the other two breathed their last in hospital.
SAJOCA is found in Mambu, Bafut (North West Region) and is the lone centre for disabled persons in the entire region. It handles the needs of people with disabilities of all age groups: kids (primarily), adolescents, adults and the old coming from all over the nation. Most importantly, it provides education to the people.
Kids at the centre are blessed with multiple talents, especially in handiwork. They do arts and craft, designing and a host of other things, which are sold to the public. It was in the course of one of its routine sales trip that their lone cargo truck got into the unfortunate incident.
The bad nature of roads in the North West Region, in particular, is one of the problems fueling the Anglophone Strike, as the people consider it a glaring case of marginalization.
