Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

As the year 2024 commences peacefully for the residents of Ngaoundéré in the Adamaoua region, a recent incident sheds light on a macabre underworld operating within the community. At the close of the previous year, local gendarmerie elements successfully apprehended two individuals engaged in the trafficking of human bones at the Bini bridge in the Ngan-ha district.

The arrest unfolded on December 29, during a routine check on a public transport bus. To the shock of the authorities, the suspects were found in possession of a human skeleton carefully concealed in a backpack. The duo was allegedly en route to sell the ghastly cargo for a staggering 12 million CFA francs to a buyer in the town of Wamé, situated along the Touboro road.

Following their apprehension, the suspects were swiftly taken into custody at the gendarmerie company. During interrogations, they admitted to having exhumed the body of a resident from the village of Bidi, located in the Bitam district within the Mbam-et-Kim department. The commander of the Ngaoundéré company, Lieutenant Ngono Afoumou, affirmed that the alleged culprits would face charges in ordinary courts for the offenses of burial violation and the exhumation of a corpse carried out in collaboration.{loadmoduleid 377}

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about the existence of such illicit activities within their midst. The trafficking of human bones not only violates the sanctity of burial grounds but also raises questions about the motivations and networks behind such heinous acts.

Lieutenant Ngono Afoumou assured the public that law enforcement remains committed to unraveling any potential networks involved in these gruesome activities. The suspects will be subjected to the full force of the law, emphasizing the gravity of their actions and the societal repudiation of such dark and exploitative practices.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the community awaits justice to be served, hopeful that this incident will act as a deterrent against any individuals contemplating engaging in the despicable trade of human bones within the region.{loadmoduleid 378}
