Southwest and Northwest Women Task Force(SNWOT) go mute over unjust detention of pregnant woman
I have watched with total bemusement the muteness of the Southwest and Northwest Women Task Force(SNWOT) over recent happenings in the country: arrest and detention of an eight month pregnant woman and the gruesome killing of Carolaise.
When SNWOT was created, I told one of my colleagues that the Task Force was going to be a game changer in the Anglophone Crisis because when veritable women, not those in business comoflage, speak and take action, things are bound to change.
The initiative was laudable, and with the calibre of women who were spearheading SNWOT, I knew that things will never be the same again. Until recently, the Task Force has become an avenue of political and grants positioning and the crave for visibility has transformed the Task Force into a business venture.
A colleague of mine was right when he said "SNWOT will automatically become a business venture for some smart women." He was right after all.
Has this laudable initiative been hijacked by war merchants thriving on the crisis?"
SNWOT can become a great force again when it starts thinking about people's wellbeing not positioning and the crave for visibility.
I thought the Task Force should be more proactive, taking initiatives to empower the local woman, who is not as knowledgeable as most of the leaders of the Task Force. It shouldn't only be Kumba, Buea is here and who knows next?
Your first point of call should be a fellow woman with a delicate pregnancy languishing behind bars because of an ancient tale.
It's my conviction that when somebody rebels against the state, that individual should be punished not his wife or children.
Afterall, they are predators of State funds who are in Kondengui, but whose wives and children are spending the money they have pilfered and are even using the stolen money to take care of them in their VIP cells.
SNWOT, this should be your first point of call. The pregnant woman. I know there are still some SNWOT members who are still holding firm to the Task Force ideals.
Please, Kill the message not the messager or would you rather kill the messenger because you do not like the message?
