Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Reports from the Cameroonian Embassy in Belgium suggest that electoral fraud may be underway as Cameroonians residing in Belgium are being prevented from registering on the electoral rolls.

According to a member of the MRC Liège municipal federation, who visited the Cameroon Embassy in Brussels on April 29, 2024, attempts to obtain a consular card were thwarted by embassy personnel. Bouncers stationed at the embassy entrance informed him that it was not possible to issue the consular card, raising suspicions of deliberate obstruction.

This incident follows previous protests organized by the BAS (Brigade Anti-Sardinards) movement at the Cameroon Embassy in Belgium on April 26, 2024. Protesters demanded registration on the electoral rolls and voiced concerns over the violation of their right to vote.

The delay in opening registrations on the electoral list, which should have begun at the start of the year, has further fueled suspicions of electoral fraud. With nearly 2 to 3 million Cameroonians living abroad potentially excluded from voting, concerns have intensified over the integrity of the electoral process.

The Biya regime's alleged attempt to block Cameroonians living abroad from voting has drawn sharp criticism, with accusations of manipulation and a disregard for the laws it has enacted.

The situation at the Cameroon Embassy in Belgium appears to be particularly contentious, with reports suggesting a power struggle within the embassy. The BAS Belgium has taken a stand demanding registration on the electoral rolls, leading to confrontations and protests outside the embassy.

As tensions escalate, Cameroonians in Belgium are left frustrated by the embassy's refusal to issue consular cards and the apparent disregard for their right to participate in the electoral process. The situation is evolving, with protests and demands for electoral transparency gaining momentum both locally and abroad. #legislativeelections #presidentialelection #Cameroon #Elecam
