Security Challenges in CAR: Cameroonian Killed in Attack on Convoy with Russian Allies

According to a statement released by the Gendarmerie, the assailants targeted the convoy, which included Russian personnel. Following the attack, Awal was rushed to the General Hospital of Bangui by Russian allies, but he succumbed to his injuries. During the same attack, a Russian national was also injured, suffering a bullet wound to the right thigh. The injured Russian is currently in intensive care at the General Hospital of Bangui.

The Gendarmerie’s investigation team, dispatched to the scene, gathered testimonies from two Cameroonians and one Central African crew member who were present during the attack.
