Cameroon: Bamenda Population Comes Out As One To Force The Release Of Activist

Population of Bamenda demonstrated the power of unflinching solidarity.

They stood their ground and pressed for the unconditional release of a youth (Benjy) arrested in connection with last week's protests in the city.

Che Benjamin is alleged to be one of the key organizers of the strike that brought Bamenda to a stand still on November 21, 2016.

The crowd blocked Ayaba Street and demanded that Che be release without a bail bond. Appeals from the SDF Chairman were met by shouts and boos.

Benjamin Che was finally released on bail.
