Sama Ernest

A huge fire has shattered the palace of the chiefdom of Bandjoun in the Western region of Cameroon. The fire incident happened on Sunday the 11th of January and completely destroyed the facade and some beautiful traditional huts in the Bandjoun royal courtyard.

The Royal Museum and the private apartments of Chief Djomo Kamga Honoré were spared by the flames. A group of young people supported by the Bafoussam firefighters worked hard to stop the fire.  Cameroon Concord gathered that there were no loss of life, but considerable damage was done to the Bandjoun palace. This is the second fire incident at the Bandjoun Royal Palace in ten years.
