Cameroon: French government donates equipment to the Cameroon army

The French government made a positive donation of eleven P4 collective tactical vehicles with weapons, transmissions stations, 40 bulletproof vests and even helmets to the Cameroon defense forces. The gift was presented on January 21, 2016 in Yaounde by the French ambassador to Cameroon Her Excellency Madam Robichon.

The ceremony was held at the army headquarters in Yaounde and recorded the participation of ambassador Christine Robichon, the Cameroon defense minister, Joseph Beti Assomo and the joint chief of army staff Rene Meka.

The French gift valued at 318 million CFA francs is intended to support the Cameroonian defense forces in a war imposed on them by the terrorist group Boko Haram. For the French diplomat, it will give mobility, speed, firepower and protection to Cameroon special forces.
