Hundreds of Children Gather for Sunday School Annual in Yaoundé
YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon — Six congregations and three praying cells that make up the Nsimeyong Zone of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC) converged at PC Simbock-Mendong for the Sunday School annual on Sunday, January 14, 2024. The event, which brought together hundreds of children and their teachers, was held under the theme “Let the children come to me, do not stop them, for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs” (Mark 10:13-16).
The National Sunday School Secretary of the PCC, Rev. Nkwenti Joseph, was the guest preacher at the event. He encouraged the Sunday school children to be God-fearing, obedient to their parents, and faithful to their studies so that they can enter the kingdom of God. He also urged the teachers to be diligent, patient, and loving in their ministry to the children.
The event was marked by various activities that showcased the talents and skills of the children. These included brain trust, Bible quiz, drama, and evangelistic singing. The children also presented gifts and offerings to support the work of the church. The event ended with the announcement of the results and the awarding of prizes to the winners. PC Nsimeyong emerged as the overall winner, followed by PC Simbock-Mendong and PC Nkolbisson.{loadmoduleid 377}

The PCC is one of the largest and oldest Protestant churches in Cameroon, with over 2 million members and more than 1,000 ordained ministers. The church was founded in 1886 by the Basel Mission, a Swiss-German missionary society.
