Anglophone crisis: Three soldiers killed in Mbonge
Three troops loyal to Cameroon have reportedly died in a suspected attack in a CDC camp in Mbonge, South West region.
Journalist Elie Smith reports that the incident happened on Wednesday at about 3pm local time.
In his tweet, Mr Smith pointed out that troops from Ekondo-Titi had been deployed in the area.
No public statement from the government has been made in this regard.
Some sources suspect Ambazonia separatist fighters could have carried out the attack. Yet it remains unclear who actually did it, for no group has claimed responsibility.
Clashes between forces loyal to the central government in Yaounde and Angophone separatists have left scores of people dead. Each party claims victory.
Anglophone separatists are fighting for what they call the restoration of the State of Southern Cameroons.
The Biya regime maintains that "Cameroon remains one and indivisible".
