FIFA Approves Namaso’s Switch: Cameroon Gains a New Star
Cameroonian international player Daniel Loader Namaso has officially been declared eligible to represent the Indomitable Lions.
This decision was made by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on January 28, 2025, and takes effect immediately, according to a statement from Fecafoot.
Initially selected for the lower national teams of the English Football Association, Namaso can now wear Cameroon's colors. This decision marks the conclusion of a complex and laborious process initiated by the Cameroonian Football Federation. The English Football Association, after initially seeking to retain the player, ultimately agreed to release him in a spirit of collaboration and fair play.
Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), congratulated his team on this success. He also welcomed Daniel Loader Namaso to the Cameroonian football family. The president encouraged other young talents to follow this example to strengthen the performance of the national teams.
This announcement is excellent news for the Indomitable Lions. It strengthens the team ahead of upcoming international challenges. Cameroonian supporters can now look forward to seeing a new talent proudly represent the nation's colors on the global stage.
