AFCON: Morocco to assist Cameroon to host the Nations cup

This announcement was made by the President of the Moroccan Football Federation, after meeting with the President of the Normalization Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation, Dieudone Happi. Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of Moroccan Football Federation held a press conference besides Dieudonne Happi, the President of the normalization committee on the 6th of March, 2018 in Marrakech, Morocco.

This press release to the media came after the meeting of the two presidents during a symposium on Female football in Africa under the auspices of CAF, that held in Marrakech, Morocco. In his discourse, Fouzi Lekjaa affirmed the unflinching support of the Moroccan football federation and Government to facilitate the hosting of the African Nations Cup by Cameroon.

" We are hereby openly declaring our unflinching support to Cameroon to enable her successfully host the 2019 African Nations Cup. This buries the rumour that Morocco was ready as host should Cameroon falter" Once more the Moroccan Football Federation stands by the Cameroon Football Federation and shall do all within its depositions to assist Cameroon to organize a memorable football tournament 2019.

A lot of media houses had announced that Morocco was a potential candidate to replace Cameroon in case of its inability to meet with the time frame as stipulated by CAF. It's now believed that a lot of financial lobbying had taken place between Morocco and Cameroon in order that Cameroon should support the candidature of Morocco to host the World Cup by 2026. Nevertheless Dieudonne Happi showed his open joy to his host,,indicating the fraternal relationship between the two Federations.
