Football: Cameroon professional league on break for lack of finances

Officials of the professional football league in Cameroon, after meeting on Thursday 05 July 2018, have decided to put a halt on the Elite one and two activities.

According to the information contained in a communiqué signed by General Pierre Semengue, the LFPC president, financial constraints are the reason why day 25 of the Elite two championship and day 30 of the Elite one championship, are on a halt till further notice.

“The administrators of the Cameroon Professional Football League, in the presence of the president of the Syndicate of Elite clubs in Cameroon (SYCEC), after meeting on 5th July 2018 at the Headquarters  of the LFPC, have noticed an impossibility to continue with the organisation of MTN Elite one and MTN Elite two championships due to financial difficulties.

Consequently, it has been decided that day 30 of the Elite one championship and day 25 of the Elite two championship initially previewed for 8 and 10 July respectively, will be postponed” the Communique read.
