AFCON preparations: CAF mounts untold pressure on LA Republique Du Cameroun

Having lots of inadequacies in her preparations towards the forth coming tournament which she is provisional host, CAF, had to sound the alarm bell. For the interest of the game and loaded with the innovations of the tournament which saw the participating teams raised from sixteen to twenty four, the challenges for Cameroun are the highest.

Barely months to the tournament Cameroun still a very poor road network, poor internet connectivity, with a political 4 G network, that is not apparently visible on the field, poorly equipped and managed hospitals, distances from hotels to the stadia and unaccommodating stadia. These worrisome factors puts the tournament being hosted in Cameroon in doubts.

The report presented to CAF inspectors doesn't speak well of the preparations towards the said tournament by Cameroon. The stadia under construction as well as those being refurbished are too slow in their pace.

In this light CAF has asked for an acceleration of all the works ranging from the stadium in Japoma in Douala and Olembe in Yaoundé.
