Yaoundé, Cameroon, March 10, 2024 — In a significant step towards addressing the ongoing Anglophone crisis, Honorable Jean Michel NINTCHEU, President of the FCC (Front for Change and Concord) and coordinator of the APC (Alliance of Progressive Forces), met with Mr. Julius AYUK TABE, a prominent Ambazonian leader detained at the main prison of Kondengui.

The meeting, held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, centered around discussions aimed at finding a resolution to the escalating crisis that has plagued the Anglophone regions of Cameroon.

The Dialogue During the exchange, Mr. AYUK TABE, accompanied by members of his Movement, reiterated his proposals for resolving the crisis. These proposals include:

  1. The release of all Anglophone prisoners arrested in connection with the crisis.
  2. The initiation of a frank and inclusive political dialogue involving all stakeholders in the crisis.

Commitment to Resolution Honorable Jean Michel NINTCHEU reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the mission of achieving a definitive resolution to the Anglophone crisis. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, he emphasized the importance of dialogue and inclusivity in addressing the grievances and aspirations of all parties involved.

The Human Toll It is crucial to underscore the devastating human toll of the Anglophone crisis, which has already claimed more than 6,000 lives and displaced hundreds of thousands both internally and externally. The urgency of finding a peaceful and sustainable solution cannot be overstated, as the continued escalation of violence only deepens the suffering of those affected by the conflict.
