Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

The Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, has announced new pricing regulations in Cameroon following the recent increase in fuel prices.

These prices were determined after consultations with various unions and are now officially in effect.

For urban taxi transport, the daytime pickup fare is set at 350 FCFA, while the nighttime pickup fare is 400 FCFA. The daytime deposit fee is 3000 FCFA, and the nighttime deposit fee is 3500 FCFA. The nighttime rates apply from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Regarding peri-urban and inter-urban transport by coach and bus, children aged 0 to 7 years old travel for free, while children aged 8 to 10 years old are charged 8 FCFA. Additionally, the maximum fare for pupils, students, and individuals with reduced mobility is capped at 300 FCFA during the day and 350 FCFA at night. These prices represent the maximum ceiling per kilometer for this type of transport.

These adjustments aim to align transport pricing with the recent changes in fuel costs and ensure fair and standardized rates across the country.
