Celebrating Milestone in the Ongoing Revitalization of the Babadjou-Bamenda Road

Covering a distance of 4.9 km, the bypass road starts from the unmistakable "Welcome to Bamenda" sign and concludes at the prestigious "Ecole des Champions." As of January 27, 2024, Bofas has successfully achieved approximately 30.7% of the tasks outlined in the project plan.

The completion of the right-of-way clearance along the entire 4.9 km signifies the groundwork laid for the upcoming phases of construction. General earthworks, executed over 4.5 km, demonstrate the dedication and progress made by the construction team.

While the actual road construction is yet to commence, notable milestones have been reached in the preparatory stages. T2+CS2 curbstones have been installed over 2.661 km out of the total 9.440 km, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail in the groundwork. Concrete-lined ditches cover a linear distance of 1.598 km out of 6.188 km, providing essential drainage infrastructure for the road.

Six culverts have been successfully installed, adding to the structural integrity of the bypass road. The project timeline indicates that the completion of earthworks is imminent, paving the way for the initiation of the road construction phase.

In the prefabrication workshops, the construction team is diligently crafting guardrails, a crucial element for safety and aesthetics along the road. Additionally, the prefabrication of seven hydraulic structures has been successfully completed, showcasing the comprehensive planning and execution of this ambitious project.
