Lions Indomptables Fine-Tune for Decisive Clash with Angola
YAOUNDÉ, Oct 11 – The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are in the final stretch of preparations for their 10th-round FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier against Angola, scheduled for Monday, October 13 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

Under the guidance of head coach Marc Brys, the squad completed their third training session on Saturday afternoon, opting for a lighter workout compared to the high-intensity drills of the previous day.
The one-hour-twenty-minute session focused primarily on offensive coordination and defensive stability, especially within the penalty area — key areas that have defined Cameroon’s recent performances.
“We needed to fine-tune decision-making in the final third and improve defensive transitions,” one technical staff member told Cameroon Concord after the session.
“The players are sharp, focused, and aware of what’s at stake.”
Special Pre-Match Schedule
With Sunday, October 12 doubling as election day in Cameroon, the team’s final preparations have been adjusted for security and logistical reasons.
All pre-match activities will take place at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, including:
-
The technical meeting at 2:00 p.m.
-
The pre-match press conference at 3:30 p.m., featuring coach Marc Brys and a player representative.
-
The final training session half an hour later, marking the team’s last rehearsal before the high-pressure encounter with Angola.
Eyes on the Qualification Path
Cameroon currently sits in a tight qualifying race, making this home fixture a crucial step toward securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Lions will look to capitalize on home advantage and fan energy at Mfandena, where thousands are expected to fill the stands despite the political tension surrounding election day.
Marc Brys’ challenge remains clear: blend youth with experience, restore attacking efficiency, and send a message that Cameroon remains one of Africa’s giants on the world stage.
All eyes now turn to Monday night. It’s not just another qualifier — it’s a test of discipline, pride, and redemption.
