Douala, Cameroon - The Cameroon Investment Forum, now in its fourth edition, kicked off today in Douala, Cameroon's economic capital.

Running from April 17th to April 19th, the forum aims to facilitate discussions and collaborations to attract productive investments in key sectors of the Cameroonian economy.

Under the theme "Attracting Productive Investments in Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Value Chains to Intensify Import-Substitution Drive in Cameroon," the forum focuses on sectors such as rice, maize, fish, milk, and oil palm. The goal is to promote domestic production and reduce reliance on imported goods in line with the government's economic development agenda.

The forum has drawn participation from both national and international stakeholders in the economic sector, providing a platform for dialogue and partnership-building. Organized by the Investment Promotion Agency (API), the event aligns with the agency's vision to attract foreign investors to Cameroon and stimulate economic growth.

The opening ceremony saw the presence of various government ministries, underscoring the importance of public-private collaboration in driving investment and development. Among the dignitaries in attendance was Mr. Bassiliken III Achille, the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy, and Handicrafts, highlighting the government's commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and business innovation.
