Douala Port Authority Faces Eviction Order in Asset Dispute
The Douala Autonomous Port (PAD) has been ordered to vacate its current offices, located in the former buildings of the National Ports Office of Cameroon (ONPC), by the Tribunal of First Instance of Douala Bonanjo.

This decision stems from an ongoing dispute over the management of residual assets from the dissolved ONPC.
Cyrus Ngo'o, Director General of PAD, reportedly initiated the legal action with the aim of reclaiming these assets, which were entrusted to ATOU Consulting Firm. The recovered funds are intended to address financial irregularities within the PAD, including those linked to the PORTSEC project.
An interim injunction issued on April 19, 2024, by the court mandates PAD's immediate eviction from the premises. Non-compliance incurs a daily penalty of 1,000,000 FCFA (approximately €1,500).
However, attempts to enforce the court order encountered resistance. A bailiff from the KOUGANG Law Firm, accompanied by gendarmerie officers, reportedly faced opposition from PAD's Real Estate Department officials, Jacques YEPMOU and BOMO Cyriaque. This resistance was allegedly supported by National Navy personnel stationed at the location.
In adherence to legal procedures, the bailiff and gendarmerie withdrew from the scene and documented the incident. This development marks another instance of alleged defiance against judicial authority, following the recent refusal of Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh to comply with an arrest warrant issued by the Supreme Court.
