Ghana: President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, 14th march 2023, commissioned the expanded GB Foods Factory

A day before the ides of March this year, we had the pleasure of taking President Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana around the GB tomatoes and curry processing factory in Tema, Ghana. Mr President was there to commission a factory expansion – comprising can manufacturing; can-filling lines and an automated warehouse. The investment brings the CAPEX spent at this facility to >$40m.

The Chairman of Agrolimen, Parent Company of GBFoods Group, Artur Carrula, took the opportunity to announce that GBFoods will be investing ~$70m in two industrial tomatoes farms, each with a factory to process fresh tomatoes to concentrate that we will use in Ghana and also exported to other African countries. These investments will utilise the Ecowas Trade Liberalisation Scheme and African Continental Free Trade Agreement.
