Abandoned roads in Cameroon: A constant death trap
Road and Railway transportion has continued to be a source of so much grief and perturbation following the most gruelling and gruelsome deaths of Cameroonians on our high ways.
Yestrday in Bamenda, the Regional capital of the North West Region, saw one of the most ghastly accidents in recent times occurring. This particular accident occurred around Tradex,up station and saw the untimely passing into glory of four young people loaded with dreams and aspirations that today lay ruined.
Most often the state has always accused drivers for over speeding and poor mastery of road signs. However the truth in Cameroon about roads is that these roads are dilapidated, ruined and abandoned to themselves.
Our roads are so very narrow and by passing is often a nightmare . Cameroonian roads were and are made without the future in mind. Roads are tarred without any major consideration about prospective road users.
