AFCON 2017 Updates:SDO for Fako has enjoined township taxi drivers to maintain peace and serenity during tournament
Senior Divisional officer of Fako Division in the South West region, Zang III has enjoined township taxi drivers to maintain peace and serenity I the respective motor parks found in the sub divisions.
He made the call in an enlarge meeting in Limbe Monday October 17, 2016, grouping trade Unionists in the sector, the Fako SDO said there was need for order in all Motor parks as they prepare to host countries taking part in upcoming Women Africa Cup of Nations. Mr Zang warned that defaulting drivers will face the wrath of authorities.
During the meeting, drivers Syndicate decry activities by clandestine drivers who have made business difficult as they pick-up passengers at lower prices and at unauthorized areas.
They also decry the dilapidating nature of some parks such as the Buea and Mile four motor parks which have been abandoned with cracks on potholes that have gradually been transformed into small lakes when rain falls.
The Limbe Omnisport stadium in Ngeme will host four teams in the 2016 Women AFCON which begins on November 19, 2016. Two training fields undergoing construction in Molyko and Buea town are still uncompleted.
