Attack on Gendermes in Douala: Disgruntled officer or thief? The unanswered question
Early reports indicated that the Man who exchanged gun shots for hours with some gendarmes on duty at the MBOPPI Gendarme Brigade was an ex Gendarme officer who came back to take revenge after his expulsion.Gun shots were heard since Wednesday night breaking Thursday with circulation paralyzed, there was total panic in Douala Thursday.
But a release from the communication service of competent ministry says the man who fired gun shots was 25 years old and was a thief that was caught in MBOPPI. The man was finally killed after he failed to surrender.
Pressmen were forced to come back to what they wrote, now quoting the release.
But there are many unanswered questions here.
How did the young thief get hold of munition to scare the Gendarmes?
Gun shots started since Wednesday night, meaning he planned the act in advance with enough reserve to challenge dozens of Gendarmes??
When an incident happens, the name of the culprit is easily given to journalists, gendarmes or police even write on their chests, why has the name of the assailant not made known???
Was it a common thief as National Gendarmerie claims or was it a former Gendarme officer as early press reports suggest???
