Bafoussam Government Delegate, Mayor at Daggers Drawn

 The die has been cast and the battle line drawn between the Government delegate to the Bafoussam City Council, Emmanuel NZETE and the mayor of Bafoussam 1, Dr. FOKA FOKA Jules.

The bone of contention is a piece of land in Bafoussam one where the council has started construction works for its Council hall. Just at the level of foundation, heavy duty machines from the Bafoussam City Council snatched the building materials, scattered the blocks and shattered the sticks and other materials. It is alleged that the action was taken following instructions from the West Governor, AWA FONKA Augustine.

According to the mayor of Bafoussam 1, the said piece of land was bought from Emmanuel NZETE, government Delegate to the City Council under the supervision of the SDO with the sum of FCFA 120 million. On phone, the government Delegate responds from Paris that he doesn’t want to hear about anything concerning constructing on the piece of land nor is willing to give back the money allegedly given to him. The governor is still to react.
