Table eggs worth over a million Frs CFA were set ablaze by regional officials of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry.
The cartoons of over 1000 eggs were burnt within the old premises of the Bamenda City Council.
Speaking to the press the officials said the eggs, coming in from the West Region, had been produced within the period of Bird Flu in the region.
Some inhabitants of the city expressed their surprise at the actions of the Livestock officials for not warning people on other measures to prevent the spread of bird flu.
