Bamenda's Road to Progress: Sonac Street Gets a Facelift Before World Bank Initiative
Bamenda, Aug. 12 – The Mayor of Bamenda has initiated the rehabilitation of Sonac Street, marking a significant effort to improve the city’s infrastructure ahead of a major 30 Billion CFA World Bank-funded project.
Sonac Street, a key thoroughfare in Bamenda linking kwen and City Chemist Roundabout, had long been plagued by potholes and cracks, creating hazards for daily commuters and hampering transportation within the city.
This rehabilitation project is part of a larger initiative to address the deteriorating road infrastructure across Bamenda, where many streets have fallen into disrepair. The ongoing maintenance work is expected to not only ease transportation challenges but also to stimulate local trade and enhance the quality of life for residents.
With the support of the World Bank, the upcoming project promises to bring substantial improvements to the city’s road network, further boosting Bamenda’s economic potential and ensuring safer, more efficient movement of people and goods. The Mayor’s proactive approach to rehabilitating Sonac Street demonstrates a commitment to laying a strong foundation for these future developments, positioning Bamenda for sustained growth and prosperity.
