Beggars beat up council worker around the Yaounde Central Market

A group of more than 10 beggars yesterday Tuesday April 18 2017 around the Yaounde Central Market beat up a council worker mercilessly for interfering in their business.
Eye witness accounts say the council worker was trying to relocate the beggars to another area farther from the market to ease congestion when the he was violently attacked.
The beggars on their part say the council worker has been on their necks to leave for some time now. 
“He doesn’t want us to work here. We don’t know why he is on our necks all the time. He wants us to move away from the market to a place where we will not be able to work again, and we don’t want that. We have been here for more than 15 years today” says a grumbling beggar.
Mama Arielle Nguenjock, a market user says the beggars have become more of a nuisance to her. “When I come here to buy, I feel very uncomfortable passing around where beggars are. Many prophets have said that some of these beggars are agents of the devil. It is a good idea to move them out of the market to somewhere else” says Mama Arielle.
Jean Pierre Mfoundjio, a stall owner around the central market entrance says the council boys should tamper justice with mercy.
Jean Pierre says “Everyone around here knows these beggars use this place for begging. Some of them don’t have hands. I think the council should think of something else to do with them rather than sending them away from this place”.
In the meantime the group of beggars who were involved in the fight was whisked off to a close police post for questioning while their victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
