Breaking

President Biya has appointed a dead man as head of the police department in the Upper Nkam constituency in the West region. Fongang Lovala Rutge who died in June 2015 from a ghastly car accident and buried in his native North West region was promoted to the rank of Police Commissioner, on November the 3rd by a presidential decree with advancement in step and grade.

This is not the first time the head of state has appointed a deceased person in a position of responsibility or grant awards to dead people. In 1995, Biya did appoint a dead man as divisional officer for Akawaya Sub division. He later replaced the deceased after The Herald newspaper published a report stating the civil administrator had long travelled to the land of his ancestors while serving in Mundemba, Ndian division.
