Cameroon army: Panic as whereabout of General Tumenta Chomu not known
General Martin Tumenta Chomu of the Cameroon army who currently heads the UN forces in the Central African Republic, CAR is reportedly missing now for several weeks. Local media reports say he has not been seen in decoration ceremonies and promotion to higher grades of some elements of his regiment since September 15, 2015. Some reports have suggested that General Tumenta Chomu may have been sidelined following the numerous sex scandals that rocked the UN mission in CAR.
The head of the UN mission code named, Minusca was included in the commission to investigate and educate troops involved in sexual abuse cases and immediately take preventive and disciplinary action. A sister publication Aurore Plus revealed that General Tumenta may have left the CAR officially for the United States for health reasons. General Tumenta Chomu has already exceeded the period of absence allowed by law and may be charged for desertion and replaced by UN Secretary General, Ban ki moon.
