They further said that, this Chinese company that is in charge of the production, uses a prototypal technology, which enhances the rapid manufacture of laptops.
“With the prototypal technology, 500, 000 laptops can be manufactured within the space of one week. After this, they could now be assembled and sent to Cameroon. Universities have started the enrolment of their students on the laptop lists; some are even through with it”, the communication department cited
It is on the 27th of June 2016, that Jacques Fame Ndongo signed a deal with the concerned company named “e-national higher education”, which was meant to increase the usage of ICTs by Cameroonian students.
As the Minister was signing this deal he explained that, through this initiative, Paul Biya has decided to put in place a project titled “one student one computer” as he ordered the allocation of computers to every student registered in any State or private institution in Cameroon.
The Minister of Higher Education pointed out that, “This is about a presidential engagement, which has as objective to ensure the possession by every university student of a technological tool which will help them in their studies. It should be noted that this gift only concerns those enrolled in higher institutions of learning during the academic year 2016-2017”.
