Cameroon: General Manager of the Autonomous Port of Douala missing
A sister publication Cameroun info.net has reported that since September 21, 2015, the General Manager of the Cameroon Autonomous Port Authority, Emmanuel Etoundi Oyono has been out of the country. CIN revealed Mr. Etoundi Oyono has not returned to the country ever since he led a delegation to Amsterdam in the Netherlands for the administrative reception of a pilot boat scheduled for September 25, 2015. The patron of the Autonomous Port of Douala was not even present at the Amsterdam ceremony. Unlike the other three members of the delegation who had returned home, the Biya acolyte is still hanging out in Europe.
Minister Alain Mebo Ngo’o, current minister of transport who was recently demoted from the Defense ministry was heard murmuring privately why a manager of an operational post should stay that long outside the country. There are conflicting reports about the whereabouts’ of the General Manager of the Autonomous Port of Douala with some saying that has been hospitalized in France, precisely at the American Hospital in Neuilly. Unconfirmed reports however hinted that Mr. Etoundi Oyono sent via his bodyguard, a medical certificate to the Special Criminal Court in Yaounde where he was expected last Wednesday.
