Cameroon: Minister of Women's Empowerment says,"Gender Equality is not Gender Domination"
Cameroon has launched activities to mark the 31st edition of the International Women’s Day with an appeal to the men to accompany the women as partners in development. The ceremony was held in Bertoua caoital of the East region under the theme: “Pledge for parity.”
The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Family made a clarion call on men to help women over come all social and financial obstacles, and to jointly participate towards the development of the society.
She also observed that women should act as partners in development not bosses emphasizing that gender equality is not gender domination. The Japanese Ambassador to Cameroon braved the bad roads to the East and attended the occasion.
