Cameroon: National Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman says Prime Minister Yang Philemon "unfit" to govern
The chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, Garga Haman Adji has launched a scathing attack on prime minister Philemon Yang claiming he is unfit to govern. In an interview he granted the Cameroon state radio and television on Sunday, the former minister of State Control and Administrative Reform responded to a question from CRTV's Ashu Theodore Nyenty on the presence of too many retired government officials still occupying duty positions at various ministries. Garga blamed the phenomenon on a weak prime minister and head of government.
He observed that Philemon Yang has failed to provide leadership and prefers to hide his weakness behind a prime ministerial order. Garga recently carried out investigations in the mobile telephone sector and pointed out that Orange owes over 76 billion CFA francs, MTN has has to pay over 76 billion CFA francs while CAMTEL has to pay to the state more than 18 billion CFA francs. The report was presented in the presence of officials of the different telephone companies and officials of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication and those of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation.
