Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Cameroonian authorities have recently made a significant stride in their battle against drug trafficking. Under the supervision of the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, 1.6148 tons of cannabis were publicly destroyed at the Nsam landfill in Yaoundé.

This high-profile operation follows a seizure made on July 2nd, resulting from close collaboration between police intelligence services and administrative and judicial authorities. The market value of the destroyed drugs is estimated at nearly 400 million CFA francs.

"We are sending a clear message to traffickers," declared Minister Atanga Nji. "The government is determined to eradicate this scourge that plagues our society and fuels urban crime."

The operation also led to the arrest of five suspects, believed to be members of a network operating from the North-West region, through the West, up to the Far North of the country.
