Controversial Abduction Case Involving a Government Official Unfolds in Yaoundé
A kidnapping case entangled with allegations of a billion FCFA theft is currently making headlines in Yaoundé. Mvondo Ayolo, the Director of the Civil Cabinet (DCC) and a prominent member of Fc Ligne 94, is accused of orchestrating the abduction of his housekeeper, Mete'e Marie-Joseph, and three other individuals.
According to our sources, Mvondo Ayolo, suspecting his housekeeper of stealing 1 billion FCFA from his residence, allegedly had him and three others kidnapped on December 5th in Yaoundé by unidentified individuals. The other three individuals, suspected of being accomplices of Marie-Joseph, are:
Zeh Meka Rodrigue, the elder brother of Mete'e Marie-Joseph and driver for Aminatou Ahidjo, PCA of the Palais des Congrès.
Ongono Bibiche, partner of Zeh Meka Rodrigue.
Mebanga Marguerite, a trader and sister (cousin) of Mete'e Marie-Joseph and Zeh Meka Rodrigue.
According to our informant, the DCC suspects Mete'e Marie-Joseph of bringing a bag of money into his home and distributing and hiding it in different places, including at the residence of his elder brother, Zeh Meka Rodrigue, and his sister, Mebanga Marguerite. Consequently, all four were kidnapped and taken to an undisclosed location. Their families were bewildered, unaware of what had happened until Mebanga Marguerite was released after enduring physical abuse, recounting the ordeal.
According to Marguerite, she was conducting her business on the evening of December 5th near Yaoundé-Nsimalen Airport when two men approached her and asked her to serve them in the car. Once in the car, she found her brother, who works for Mvondo Ayolo, seated behind. Without delay, she was directly taken captive. She would be taken to where Zeh Meka Rodrigue and his girlfriend Ongono Bibiche were already located. All would undergo torture and inhumane treatment. Their captors demanded they immediately surrender the money if they wanted to stay alive.
"I told them that it had been a long time since I had seen my cousin and that if I had received money, I wouldn't have come to sell food at the airport. After searching my mobile phone, they realized that I had not been in contact with my cousin for a long time. That's how they threw me into a neighborhood in Yaoundé," Marguerite reveals, currently in intensive care as confirmed by the fifth image below.
Marguerite is unaware of where she was taken that day as it was in an unmarked vehicle with tinted windows. For now, the family does not know the whereabouts of the others. Searches conducted at Semil, SED, the police, and the gendarmerie legion have yielded no significant results.
