Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

A male tenant seemingly in his early 50s was beaten up at his doorsteps by his landlord because he owed over 3 years rents. The incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday at the Bonaberi neighbourhood in Douala.

Eye witnesses say the landlord who lives in the same compound with the tenant, waited at the tenant’s doorsteps after adding a padlock to his door.  They say he did all these when he noticed that the tenant had gone to a nearby tea shop to take his usual breakfast.

According to the tenant, his reason for not paying house rents is because of water that enters the house when it rains.

“I have told my landlord times without number to arrange the drainage of this house and also to raise my door. My cry has always fallen on deaf ears. Now that he has attacked me, he is going to pay me damages” yells the tenant.

The landlord on his part says the tenant must pay what he is due and leave his house immediately or all his belongings will be confiscated.

I have told this man to pay me or leave my house but he does not want to pay me nor leave my house. This time he will pay me whether by hook or crook even it means using the forces of law and order to confiscate his belongings.
