Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon - Eko John Ewome, popularly known as Moja Moja, has been arrested and transported to Yaoundé, according to reports from Cameroon Concord.

Ewome, a traditional ruler and former member of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), was apprehended last night by SEMIL forces. His arrest follows his recent dismissal from the BIR.

A few days after his dismissal, Ewome released a video alleging a coup plot involving some military officials. The General Coordinator of the BIR stated that Ewome had become a liability to the corps and was consequently relieved of his duties and transferred to the Infantry.

Moja Moja gained notoriety for targeting individuals from the Northwest region of Cameroon under the pretext of combating separatists. His videos, which often mixed comedy with serious issues, brought him both fame and legal troubles.
