French army general visits Yaounde war college
The Head of the French forces based in Gabon, Brigadier General Vincent Guionie has visited the Yaounde International War College, EIFORCES located in Awae, Mefou and Afamba Division. General Vincent Guionie in the company of the Secretary of State in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Jean Baptist Bokam, met with the students and their trainers. The senior French military official said he was impressed with the military courses and the practical lessons designed for the trainees especially as they are technologically oriented.
The General told the Deputy Director of the War College, Cecile Oyono Thom that the training should be highly advanced as Cameroon is facing an enemy with conventional attack strategies. He reportedly watched the trainees display their mastery of the military weaponry and held brief talks with the students and some war college officials.
Brigadier General Vincent Guionie who has been working in Africa for over three decades promised to work with the Cameroon defence sector and provide exchanges in advanced military know-how. General Guionie has served in twelve African countries. The Yaounde International War College, EIFORCES was created in 2008 and trains military personnel from Africa and other continents.
