Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

The GCE examination at Lycee Bilingue d’Akwa Nord in Douala has witnessed heavy military presence this morning as form 5 and upper 6th students were making their way into the school to sit in for the 2016/2017 highly controversial examination session.

The military men who made their presence known from the gate right into the classrooms could be seen holding fire arms and patrolling everywhere on the school campus.

Many have condemned this situation saying this could instead bring fear to the students who are already very nervous giving the situation of the country. Critics say bringing military to schools will not solve the crisis.

“Bringing all military in schools will not solve the Anglophone crisis. Absolute security can never be guaranteed by the military alone. It takes cooperation from the entire population to guarantee security” says a critic. “The government needs to call for dialogue with leaders of the crisis many of whom are still in detention in order to come up with a lasting solution and put this squabbles to rest” he adds.
