Unveiling Tomorrow's Cameroon Through Today's News

Breaking

Government spokesman Issa Tchiroma Bakari has revealed that his political party is an instrument to accompany President Paul Biya to the end of his career.

Mr Tchiroma is the leader of Front National pour le Salut du Cameroon which could be translated as National Front for the Salvation of Cameroon.

The man, who doubles as information minister, was speaking on Saturday in Garoua. He is due to organise a rally on Tuesday in Pitoa town.

The FSNC participates in presidential elections just to gather votes for Mr Biya’s ruling Cameroon’s People’s Democratic Movement. And Mr Biya makes strategic appointments for FSNC in return.

The election is expected later in November when Cameroonians go to choose a new president or renew the old one, Mr Biya.

President Paul, who has been in power since 1982, is yet to declare his candidacy. His militants across the country keep urging him to run again.
