Cameroon: General Express 'attempts to evade ' three-month sanction
It is rumoured that General Express is attempting a change of name in a bit to evade the three-month ban imposed on it by government.
The transport company was sanctioned a few days ago after a deadly accident that claimed at least 15 lives and left several injured persons.
These accusations come after an image went viral on social media, depicting two men in Douala, one above a bus with the name General Express on it. The man is seen painting "Defotso" on a building lodging the bus, which looks very much like most structures housing transport vehicles in Cameroon.
But reports from Cameroon-Info.Net suggest a stakeholder of the company, speaking to La Nouvelle Expression, has rubbished the accusations, reiterating their commitment and plans to make things better upon resumption of active service.
In the meantime, it's hard to tell who is right. However, just anything is possible in Cameroon.
