Cameroon: Gregoire Owona says “the State does not dialogue with people who give injunctions”
Speaking to the BBC on Saturday, the Minister of Labour and Social security said the Cameroonian government will not dialogue with people who want to pass orders to them.
The Minister of Labour told the BCC that, citizens do not give injunctions to their authorities and that there can be no dialogue with such people. He further said that, secession has never been easy anywhere in the world. Gregoire Owona even said he has never heard of successful secession in any country.
He went as far as saying that, the Anglophone leaders are no leaders giving reasons such as, they don’t want to come back from the Diaspora meet with the president and tell him what they want. According to him, the president is not yet aware of what the Southern Cameroonians are demanding in spite of the number of times the message has been sounded on his ear.
When asked about the upcoming presidential elections, the Labour Minister said Paul Biya is their only candidate. That the other candidates should calm down. He equally talked about Akere Muna’s candidature, saying that he is unfit to rule Cameroon.
