Cameroon: National assembly building on fire
Reports reaching Cameroon Concord say Cameroon's parliament building has been consumed by fire.
The third and fourth floors have been affected.
The incident began at 11pm local time on Thursday.
The cause of the incident is still unclear. But some people are already suspecting Southern Cameroonian separatists.
Recent strange arsons have been taking place in Southern Cameroons, not in Yaoundé.
The burning down of the heavily guarded building is very symbolic, should it be the result of the Anglophone Crisis.
This shows that even the presidency can be reduced to ashes.
A fresh impetus would have been added to the struggle. Victory for Southern Cameroons could be possible!
However, the fire could have been sparked by electric cables.
Fire fighters and the whole Yaoundé are running in confused patterns.
Opposition MPs of the SDF party, who are boycotting the final ordinary session of parliament for 2017 which opened on Tuesday, are reportedly present at the scene.
