Cameroon: NCC sanctions journalists
The National Communication council, led by Peter Essoka, has sanctioned some Cameroonian journalists from practicing their profession.
Each of the journalists suspended had a point where they went contrary to the principles set forth by NCC.
Ernest Obama and Sidonie Monkam of Vision 4 have been suspended for a month. They are accused of reporting on a nude video of a woman who is reported to have been fighting over a boyfriend.
Another suspension was linked with Parfait Ayisi, still of Vision 4. He has been sanctioned for a period of one month as well as his program "tour d'horizon", for being involved in sexual activities with a 17 year old, who reportedly came looking for a holiday a job at the TV station.
The publisher of L'economie de l'est" was banned for life, from practicing journalism in Cameroon. This was due to problematic articles which he published against the Director of CNPS.
