Cameroon: North West region faces scarcity of SCTM gas

The Population of the North West Region is presently experiencing hard times due to the scarcity of cooking gas especially the SCTM brand. The price of SCTM domestic cooking gas which is the most consumed brand in the Region has skyrocketed from 6500FCFA to 8,500, 9000 and 10,000FCFA.

The Regional Delegate for Trade, Cletus Anye explained that the situation has been worsened by the fact that there is no SCTM gas depot in Bamenda. SCTM is among the seven gas brand currently in the Cameroon market. 

In spite of efforts made by government to have retailers interchange domestic gas bottles, consumers are still faced with resistance. According to correspondent report, the scarcity, though acute in Bamenda, is presently felt nationwide.
