Central African Republic rebels abducts 15 Cameroonians

Fifteen passengers travelling on a bus were abducted by armed men on the night of Thursday the 19^th of March some 11 km from Garoua-Boulaï heading towards Bertoua the chief city in the East of Cameroon.

The passengers who were predominantly Cameroonian citizens were using a service operated by Lux Travel Bus Agency in the Garoua-Boulaï locality found in the Lom-et-Djerem Division in the East region.

Cameroon government officials have said the rebels in the Central African Republic were responsible for the kidnappings. The Cameroonian army had been deployed in this part of the country, which is often confronted with sporadic attacks from the Central African armed gangs such as Seleka and Anti-Balaka.
